Meet Dr. Elaahi
Barry Elaahi, DDS
Dr. Barry Elaahi is an orthodontic expert and a firm believer that a healthy and beautiful smile is the foundation of an improved quality of life. He attended Cornell University for his undergraduate studies, where he earned his B.S. degree in Biological Engineering & Technology in 2005. He then earned his D.D.S. degree in 2009 at the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine.
In 2010, Dr. Elaahi completed a year of General Practice Residency at Stony Brook University Hospital as a PGY-1 resident. He then went on to complete his three-year post-graduate Orthodontic specialist training at the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his specialty certificate in Orthodontics in 2013. He has done extensive research and completed his thesis on Pediatric Sleep Apnea during his Orthodontic training, where he was the recipient of the 2013 Leo Sreebny award for the best post-graduate residency research project.
Dr. Elaahi is a Board Certified Orthodontist (Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics) and affiliated with the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and NYSDA. Furthermore, he is a certified provider of Invisalign and 3M Incognito Lingual braces. Dr. Elaahi spends much of his spare time on continuing education, research, and studies in evidence-based dentistry. He is an avid tennis player and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
